The Greek philosopher Plato argued a theory that objects should be true to their nature and purpose. The most real objects were those that filled their purpose without unnecessary frills. This philosophy is clearly portrayed in the Plato Collection: utility and sophistication are portrayed with a minimum of lines. A single sweeping curve defines the backs and arms; this is a collection for impromptu conversation and philosophical debates.
